Handcrafted/Handpainted in the Loire Valley, France
Named after the thickly wooded forests of Sologne, this enchanting collection lets us peek into a region known as the hunting ground of French kings for centuries. Each detailed composition, rendered with vivid realism, captivates with graceful fauna tucked amidst the forest’s grassy marshes and deep woods. An original take on a classic 18th century style, finished in an inviting palette of earth hues.
Perfect for mountainside retreats, Gien's Sologne dinnerware brings the outdoors in with wild rabbits, partridges, ferns, quail, and woodcocks. Designer Estelle Rebottaro, a professional animal painter, was inspired by the wildlife of Sologne and the hide-and-seek movements of the animals in the area. Faience earthenware made in France by Gien.
Located near the Loire Valley castles, the Faïencerie de Gien has been synonymous with prestigious faience tableware and decorative objects since its founding in 1821. Gien pieces are renowned for their warm white clays decorated with traditional motifs reminiscent of the French countryside.
