Our rimmed pewter vases were imagined as modern urns – curvaceous containers, in classic proportions, with a larger capacity for flowers. We offer this elegant design in three sizes, and highly encourage mixing with other styles, of varying heights and sizes from our collection, to create abundant arrangements.

While most match pieces are cast, these small treasures are spun from two discs of pewter – one for the body and another for the base. Spinning is a process by which a disc of pewter is rotated at high speed and formed into a symmetrical shape. A high degree of skill is required to smoothly shape the final contours and details. The base is formed in a similar manner and joined to the body by soldering.

Pewter Care:

Match pewter is handmade by artisans in Northern Italy. Each piece is made with a lead free alloy of tin, copper and antimony that is fda approved and food safe.

All match pewter can be hand washed in warm water with a liquid dish soap. Be sure to dry the pewter completely, as water allowed to dry on pewter may cause spots. Some items, such as Flatware and Dinnerware can be machine washed using a liquid dishwasher soap, on the lowest heat setting, for both the washing and drying cycles.

Cleaning your pewter:

Unlike silver, pewter tarnishes very slowly and requires almost no maintenance.
Should you choose to clean your pewter, hand wash in warm water with a liquid dish soap. Be sure to dry the pewter completely, as water allowed to dry on pewter may cause spots. Any spots that appear can be easily removed by polishing or by gently rubbing the area in small circular motions with very fine "0000" steel wool.

What is Pewter?

Pewter is an alloy (a combination of base metals) that is made of tin, copper and antimony. To truly be pewter, an alloy must contain at least 92% tin; match Italian Pewter contains 95% of the highest quality tin, and absolutely no lead. Hence, the "95" that is stamped into each piece of match Italian Pewter.
